Billy Dawson is an accomplished author in the field of project management, a seasoned business leader, consultant, and project management expert with over four decades of experience guiding global organizations toward achieving breakthrough performance. As a former Procter & Gamble senior executive and now Senior Partner at New Oaks Consulting, he has successfully led high-impact, multi-million-dollar global projects within the consumer goods industry. For his clients today, Billy brings both the strategic credibility of a Fortune 500 executive and the practical, on-the-ground perspective of someone who has run the projects, not just advised on them.
Throughout his career, Billy has earned a reputation for transforming complex projects into predictable, efficient, and results-oriented systems. His expertise is supported by multiple professional certifications, including PMP, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, and Supply Chain credentials. Billy’s passion for helping businesses overcome execution challenges is reflected in his proven four-step project transformation model: Assess, Strategize, Implement, and Optimize, which has helped clients reduce delays by up to 30%, increase milestone predictability by more than 40%, reduce budget overruns by 25% or more, and significantly enhance organizational efficiency.
A lifelong learner, Billy earned his Executive MBA from the University of Notre Dame, where he served as Class President of the 1999 EMBA cohort. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His academic path was built on foundations laid in Milan, Tennessee, where he excelled both academically and athletically as Defensive Captain of the 1977 State Championship football team.

✦ I had the opportunity to play a key leadership role in helping shape P&G’s Lean Start-Up and fast-cycle learning culture, work that focused on identifying, building, and managing a portfolio of new brands, partnerships, and business models designed to accelerate top-line growth.
✦ Over the course of my 36-year career with P&G, and more recently through five years of project and supply chain management consulting, I’ve had the opportunity to travel extensively across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia. These experiences have been invaluable, exposing me to diverse cultures, business environments, and leadership styles, and have shaped how I approach solving complex business challenges with a holistic, globally informed perspective.
✦ I’m passionate about giving back and currently serve as an advisor to four nonprofit organizations, all centered on helping young people discover their purpose, pursue their passion, and reach their full potential.
✦Long before my professional corporate career, I was competing on the field and in the ring. I served as Defensive Captain of my high school football team and helped lead us to a 1977 AA State Championship. I was later honored with induction into the Gibson County, Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame. I also earned several Golden Gloves championships as a teenage boxer.
✦ I’ve always had a deep appreciation for smooth jazz, and at one point I even played the saxophone — so music has long been one of the ways I relax, recharge, and stay inspired.
✦ I’m also an avid golfer and was proud to reach my personal best of a single digit handicap a few years ago. Golf has given me the chance to play several outstanding courses across the United States, as well as a premier course in Singapore.
